What can I expect from Nuna?

Nuna helps you discover the right mental healthcare expert in the quickest way possible. Nuna saves your time, understands your specific needs and matches you with the right expert who will consult you online.

What can I not expect from Nuna?

If you are in a life threatening situation, mentally or physically, you should not use Nuna. You should use the national emergency lines (112 in Spain). Nuna is only able to help in those situations where a physical visit is not necessary.

How does it work?

You can find the right expert in two ways. Use our simple search and filter based on your needs like city, online therapy or face to face or by type of expert like cognitive behavioral therapist. If you are not sure, simply use our discovery tool

Once you match, you can always speak to your expert through messages or schedule video calls. If you want to change your therapist, there are many other recommended therapists who will take your first session for free

What's the duration of my therapy?

It really depends. However, we've noticed that most therapies range between 6-8 sessions. However, the final decision is yours which you can base on your licensed expert's feedback.

Does online therapy work?

At Nuna, we believe that many cases of general therapy for anxiety or stress, mild depression or counselling for relationship issues are as effective as face-to-face therapy. Having said that, we do not recommend online therapy for severe depression, ADHD, severe addiction to drugs, OCD, Schizophrenia. We will work hard to bring all kinds of experts on Nuna and ensure you're able to book appointments face-to-face in these cases.

Can I use Nuna in case of an emergency?

No, in case of any emergencies, we recommend you reach out immediately through the national emergency lines.

Will Nuna prescribe any medication?

No. Nuna does not provide medications or prescriptions at this point.

How do I reach out to someone from Nuna in case I need help?

Once you register, you will always have Nuna added as a default contact on your chat. You can simply chat with us and we'll try to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

How much does it cost?

In some cases, depending on your city or therapist, we’re able to reduce the cost of first session. You can find this information on every expert’s profile. Some experts also offer packages where the prices can be lower if you take more sessions.

Depending on the therapist or the type of therapy that's most suited to you, the prices will vary, but you can always find this information before you interact with the mental healthcare expert. However, you should expect the costs to be between 40 and 60 EUR/session on average in Europe and equivalent prices in LATAM.

Is Nuna affordable?

Yes, apart from being an extremely secure way of accessing mental healthcare, our users prefer us for our affordability.

Each individual sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes. This information is available on each expert's page. Regarding the whole therapy duration, it depends. However, we've noticed that most therapies range between 8-12 sessions. However, the final decision is yours which you can base on your licensed expert's feedback.

Is VAT already included in the booking fee?

Yes, the VAT and all transaction costs are already included in our booking fee. We keep the booking fee as minimal as possible so we continue to support affordable mental healthcare

Nuna has bi-lingual experts in almost every country we operate so you can choose the experts by language on our directory. If you would like to speak to an expert from your own country, you can also do that by choosing the country from our directory.

How do I book an appointment?

Click on a schedule from an expert's page on our directory and confirm the checkout. For buying packages, it's the same process but the expert will confirm the date of the appointments and you will receive an email and a reminder each time

When do I pay for the appointment?

When you book your appointment, you will be asked to confirm the payment through our secure platform

I need to reschedule my appointment. What are the conditions?

We have a 24 hour policy. This means you can reschedule your appointment 24 hours before the time of your appointment for free without any costs. You will not be able to reschedule it after this window has passed. This way, we ensure our experts have enough time to adjust and plan their schedules

I booked an appointment. What do I do?

Ensure your profile is 100% complete. Adding your information and goals will help your expert understand and be prepared for your session

How do I videocall my expert?

On the day/time of your appointment, your expert will initiate the videocall and you will get notified with a link within your secure chat.

Does Nuna have its own video conferencing?

Yes, both chat and video are built in-house within Nuna and we take great care to ensure they're 100% secure. For this reason, we encourage you to only use our tools.

Do you support other tools like Skype or Zoom?

No, we highly recommend using our in-built chat and video for security reasons. We will not be able to guarantee a good therapy experience if other third party tools are being used.
